Could anything possibly be worse than spraining your knee after tripping while running from a creep, and falling straight through a manhole in the ground? Many things, actually. She's not going to count meeting the mutant family as one of them, though. At this point, a junior in high school who can't stand the other students of New York City and needs to get away from her family in order to fix their problems, she'll take what she can get.
She's always loved the dark, anyway.
