Alice is a 21-year-old woman trapped in a world of darkness, haunted by a troubled past filled with deep emotional and physical scars from her childhood. For the past three years, she has been living in an experimental facility for those deemed criminally insane, where she grapples with her inner demons. Despite her chilling actions as a serial killer-most notably, her final act of vengeance against a man who had assaulted her, where she took pleasure in watching him choke-Alice finds solace and expression in her love for cooking and baking, using these crafts as a means to connect with herself amid her chaotic life. Enter Devon Hanson, a charismatic volunteer at the facility and a published author and journalist. Devon's genuine interest in Alice sparks a transformation in her, as he seeks to understand the mind behind her actions. Through their conversations, Alice begins to confront her past, slowly uncovering the layers of her trauma. The bond they form is unexpected, challenging Alice to rethink her existence and the choices she made, as Devon's presence offers a glimpse of hope and the possibility of redemption in a world that has largely abandoned her. As Alice and Devon navigate their complex relationship, they become entwined in a dangerous dance that tests the boundaries of trust, sanity, and morality. Their interactions not only provide Alice a chance to confront her painful memories but also uncover the dark secrets of the facility itself. Hidden agendas and twisted motives emerge, leading both characters down a path that confronts the very nature of good and evil, ultimately forcing Alice to decide if she can embrace a future beyond her past.

She sat down on the floor. Knees drawn to her chest, hands pulling at her hair. She couldn't take it anymore. She ripped out a bunch of her hair and laughed at the pain it brought her. Nothing could be compared to the pain she already felt. She couldn't describe what she felt. Even after killing her tormentor the pain still wouldn't go away. The joy she felt when stabbing Alison was the ultimate feeling. She couldn't stop laughing, as she continued to stab Alison over and over again, but even that high cleared. She smiled as she remembered the memory. It was the best she'd have for a long time. She stood up and threw the ripped hair in the bin. Even though she still had those melancholy dark feelings in the depths of her, killing Alison had chipped away some of it. But no matter how bad felt, no matter how low she went, or how far broken she was, she'd still rise up. Somehow gravity didn't apply to her. And she wouldn't let it. *Elizabeth Lynnwood was the most normal teenager in the world until the universe suddenly decided to turn things around. She had the perfect family, the perfect grades and the perfect life. And out of nowhere they all simultaneously started to crumble. First was the death of her parents. A car accident. Of course. Being an only child, she had no one left, apart from her relatives on the other side of the country and the one drunk of an uncle in the next neighborhood. No one wanted her. Uncle Kennedy took her in, not by choice. Life took a very bad turn for her and highschool made it so much worse. Highschool they say are the best days of your life. Bullshit. Highschool had turned her into the monster she was now.
