This is a story about Lucas, a 12-year-old boy living a mundane life, daydreaming of power and an escape from his harsh reality of an alcoholic uncle and a society he views as unfair. He's obsessed with the idea of having superpowers, particularly the ability to copy and paste anything he wants. He also laments the current social climate, particularly regarding gender roles and relationships.
One night, his wealthy, somewhat effeminate best friend, Alex, reveals romantic feelings for him during a late-night walk in the park. Lucas, confused and taken aback, struggles to process this revelation, as he's always considered himself straight, albeit with a cynical view of girls. He's conflicted because he values his friendship with Alex but is uncomfortable with the idea of a romantic relationship with a boy. He also finds Alex attractive but doesn't know how to interpret that.
Lucas's internal monologue reveals a mix of homophobia, misogyny, and general frustration with the world, mixed with genuine affection and protectiveness towards Alex. He ends up half-agreeing to explore a potential relationship with Alex, mostly out of fear of hurting his friend's feelings. He flees the situation, overwhelmed and confused.
