Ascension's Scar

Kylo Munce is a farmer in an unseelie territory known as Fwea, who knows not what she seeks. Her confinement stirs her to cause commotion at the worst time to simmer above a boil-at the passing of the Pharaoh's royal family and nobility. The consequences she must face, being from disrespected lands and being given what the wealthy claim as theirs, she must strive to overcome it all with no face to turn to but the reflection in the pond water at the highest base of young warriors.

Only there is so much more beneath the surface. Beneath both her own flesh and the soil she grew up farming corn on is something much more divine she wishes to claim. It feels cold and clammy in her hands, savage yet serene. At nighttime, she can feel it rise from her chest, crawl out from her fingertips to try just whispering to her. It is both the brightest white and the darkest shadowy black, but it is hers. While training to break every ounce of feminine grace she carries, she skips sleeping to figure out what is wrong with her.

Only, it could be the answer that fills every empty page in the class books.

This is my first attempt at a book and sort of blossomed off of a random thought in the middle of class. Once I started planning though, I imagined this whole system in this other world and really enjoyed creating each character, starting off vague and building into them. Sometimes I found characters that just didn't feel write, so I'd go back and have to completely change every interaction. I'm no artist so the cover is a little misleading LOL. Lmk if you have tips for anything since I'm new and leave comments while reading!!
