Halidien has been traveling Middle Earth with Legolas and Aragorn. The people she trusts the most. When Gandalf came to them, telling them the One Ring had been found. Halidien races to destroy the ring and protect those she cares about. But what will it cost her? Is she ready to lose those close to her? Or will the memories of the past hold her back from taking a leap of faith? 

Second book after The Quest, where Halidien joins Bilbo and the company in reclaiming Erebor. I suggest reading it first but you do not have to, to read this book!
