Emily Roses is done with love. After getting played by a narcissist and then having to break up with the perfect guy because he didn't want to do long distance, she's decided college is strictly for fun. No relationships, no falling, just fun dates and zero attachments.

Then she meets Calvin Waterman.

Calvin was treated like a plague in his high school years thanks to his older brother, so his priorities are focused on the career his parents want him to pursue. He's awkward, sensitive, and completely unaware that he's the sweetest guy Emily has ever met. And that shouldn't matter; she's sworn off love, after all. But somehow, between study sessions, joint running sessions the non-athletes find themselves doing for "being healthy", and the way he looks at her like she's the best part of his day, Calvin starts to feel like something she can't afford to lose.
