Giyuu never wanted to be a rider, but pressure gets to the best of people. Maybe it was his mother, or the lingering presence of his sisters becoming incredible riders, or just maybe it was the little rumors and whispers all about him, saying he'd never become strong.
Giyuu likes to spite, likes to see how other people react when he does something they think he can't do. He wants to prove he deserves to be Tsutako and Makomo's sibling, to prove he fits within the family, and he gets the chance. He didn't really think his mother would force him to the Riders Quadrant, which was stupid of him.
