In 1904, two teenagers from Zurich, Switzerland went to the Swiss Alps for a routine hiking trip. An accidental discovery of an ancient tomb leads to the discover of the century, a well-kept secret that humanity was never meant to find: a woman of extraordinary importance and power.

After being returned to Zurich, the woman from the tomb awakens, alive, but had forgotten who she was or what she did many eons ago. Now, she must learn to live in this new world, strange and advanced, yet also primitive to her at the same time. A goddess among mortals, she seems human enough, but different at the same time. She cannot remember her real name, she cannot remember how to control all of the powers that the ring on her right arm allows her to use, but she will go by a new name from that day forward: Andromeda, the Lady of Darkness.

The world is on the brink of a large-scale war with Japan and Russia already going at it in 1904. With this new and mysterious being walking among mortal men, how will she effect the delicate balance of power?

Gwyneth had always felt connected to her faith, a higher power presiding over her. That faith had shaken that devastating day those years ago, the day that went on to haunt her every nightmare for years to come. She's still trying to come back from it, to not only restore her faith in life and love, but her faith in herself. The sanctity of her spirit- she prayed for resolve. Every punch was a prayer. Every mile was a hymn. Until her knuckles bled and her knees gave. Azriel had been surrounded by darkness his whole life, a poison on his world, on his being. He exercised restraint in his every waking moment, banishing that darkness within himself. Some guessed of the strain it put on him, but no one knew the extent of it, how deep his scars ran. It was better this way, he was sure. He had always thought that if there were a higher power- which he wholly doubted- such deities must loathe him to have burdened him such darkness. He hadn't much faith in the gods anyway, much less faith that he could sway their opinion on him. But Gwyneth and Azriel did have one thing in common: the quiet fight within themselves. They only knew one way: to go about it alone, couldn't fathom letting another in. But there's a magic in finding someone who is your equal but opposite, something transforming. And frankly, Gwyneth and Azriel could both use a little magic. All characters owned by SJM in the ACOTAR series. Story takes place after the events of ACOSF. Aligns with the events in my other fic: A Storm of Flames and Deceit. I haven't finished Crescent City, so this story takes place outside of the events of those books as well. Bridgeton/Pride and Prejudice meets Azriel our beloved Shadowsinger and this author will tell the story of a Prideful noble lady and a spymaster who hates her. Azriel, the battle-worn Shadowsinger of the Night Court, has spent centuries in war and darkness. He has no patience for noble games, no desire for politics. But when Rhysand arranges his marriage to the infamous Jewel of Prythian-an effort to mend ties with the Spring Court and keep Azriel from dangerous affections-he is forced into a world he despises. Liora, daughter of the Dawn and Spring Courts, is everything he is not: a highborn beauty, the perfect courtly lady, untouched by war. To Azriel, she is spoiled, vain, and frivolous. To Seraphine, he is a brute-cold, scarred, and lacking any grace beyond the battlefield. Forced into marriage, they are trapped in a battle of wills, neither willing to bend. But peace in Prythian is fragile, and war is never far. Whispers of old enemies emerging from the shadows threaten the stability of the courts. As political tensions rise, Azriel and Liora find themselves at the center of a deadly game-where their union may be the only thing holding Prythian together. For beneath Liora's silks and diamonds lies a mind as sharp as his blades. And beneath Azriel's shadows and scars is a longing he never dared to name. Enemies by fate. Lovers by scandal. Can a warrior of darkness and a lady of starlight survive the storm ahead-or will their pride and prejudice tear them, and Prythian, apart?
