In 1930s Joseon, during the height of the Japanese occupation, Cho Junmin or Samuel James Carter, known to the world however as Matsuda Riku, serves as a high-ranking officer in the Japanese military. Unbeknownst to those around him, he is a Korean-born spy working for the Americans as he risks his life to gather intelligence for them. Beneath his cold and calculating facade, Junmin hides a soul burdened by betrayal, loss, and the relentless weight of living a double life.

Meanwhile at a bar frequented by officers of his kind, he then meets Nagase Nana. A sweet and innocent Japanese woman who works there as the main singer and the attraction of the bar. Her voice is like a siren, drawing and captivating people in and putting them in a dreamlike trance.

As Junmin navigates a dangerous web of loyalty and deceit, he finds himself drawn to Nana, whose innocence and kindness begin to unravel his carefully guarded identity. But in a world where trust is a dangerous gamble and betrayal lurks at every turn, Junmin must decide whether to embrace the vulnerability he has long suppressed or lose himself completely in the shadows of Matsuda Riku.
