He closed his eyes and took a deep, shuddering breath. The pain, the humiliation, the loneliness-it would all be over soon. He hated the fact that he was leaving Billy, but he knew he had to. He made a scheduled message for his parents telling them to take care of Billy from now on. They should receive it tomorrow morning. Hopefully, it will finally make them care. Even if it's too late.
"Lucas?"
The voice made him freeze. His eyes snapped open, and he turned his head slightly, his heart pounding. It was Tyson. Of all people, Tyson.
"What the hell are you doing?" Tyson called out, his voice sharp with alarm. He was jogging toward the bridge, his usual cocky demeanor replaced by something Lucas couldn't quite place. Fear? Concern?
"Go away," Lucas muttered, his voice barely audible over the wind.
But Tyson kept coming. "Lucas, get down from there. Right now."
