Butterfly: A Hunger Games Fanfiction

Lavender Lively is a twelve-year-old from District 11; she lives in the poorest area of the district. District 11 only has two victors, both male, who won at 16 and 18. Lavender's family died from sickness when she was five, and now she lives with her grandparents, who are both unable to work on the farms, which leaves it to the twelve-year-old to work on the farms to earn the money. Lavender is known on the farms as the butterfly, a kind and gentle soul who many may fear. Lavender is also said to have the voice of a god when she sings. At the reaping for the 73rd Annual Hunger Games, her name is reaped, but when a twelve-year-old boy's name is picked, her best friend, 18-year-old Luca, volunteers for his place. Now the twelve-year-old can only hope that he might be able to find a way to win, knowing that she will die in the arena, but she doesn't know that she might just be able to pull through.
