Solemn Lament

The brightly dressed woman dances around me, singing an awful song as I'm bound to a chair by thick rope.

"-the hope inside your eyes has been stolen!~" The woman continues, a rusty scythe attached to her back.

"What do you want Gadreel? The book? The coffin? Your freedom?" I plead, trying to figure a way out.

"Oh please!~ Stop struggling and just sing along Keeper!~" The woman asks of me, spinning around my bounds.

Relent but give in as the lyrics to the music are brought forth into my mind.

"I know I must be the reason why, you have given up your smiles.." I reluctantly sing, seeing as it's buying me more time.

As we both continue the song, we harmonize into one line, the introduction to main lyrics.

"That you could never know..."
"Cause I know!"

Michael Desmet is a Keeper, and the last one alive at that. A Keeper stores and guards special artifacts known as Distortions, powerful objects that feed off of fear. Michael comes from one of the longest lines of Keepers, the Desmets, charged with guarding the most powerful Distortion to date: The Solemn Lament. A pair of ritualistic weapons that can change their form into anything, and can be used in a special ritual to bring forth millions of entities made from Distortions into the world.

One day, Michael wakes up to realize The Lament has been stolen, and goes on a worldwide journey to recover them. Will you join him?
