The voice within said to vanquish the foe, but your heart said it could become a worse image of evil.
Slowly, you see my heart rot away.
Eating itself from inside out.
With each step, I took the darkness overtook. Slandering the light ahead.
For years, the path was dark behind me.
Ahead, there were only two choices. Pain or death.
I chose the pain
I chose the path least traveled.
That path led me to you.
It led me to my salvation.
It led me to the light, the vanquished of my darkness.
The fire of my soul.
With these hands, I vow to defend the fire around my heart.
I vow to encompass its love and devotion forever till the day I stop breathing.

"Please, stop," I begged, my voice cracking. Tears streamed down my face, my eyes swollen and burning. "I can't handle this anymore. Just stay away from me." His words, "Little Angel, don't say that. I'm here to love you," were like a cruel joke. Love? The word tasted like ash in my mouth. His actions screamed something entirely different. "Your sweet words won't change anything.
