While other girls learned proper etiquette and how to pour a cup of tea, Octavia Barbossa grew up on the infamous Black Pearl, under the watchful eye of her father, Captain Hector Barbossa, learning to wield a cutlass and navigating maps before she could talk. But after the crew ventures to the Isla De Muerta and finds a chest containing cursed Aztec gold, they all pay the price for their greed, and vow to get every last coin back to break their curse.

Upon hearing the call of the last piece on the mainland, the crew attack Port Royal, kidnapping Governor Swann's daughter, Elizabeth in the process. But little do they know the kidnapping has not gone unnoticed by one of Elizabeth's admirers, Will Turner, who vows to find her and return her to Port Royal safely, forging an unlikely alliance with another pirate along the way.

But when Will and Octavia's paths finally cross, and the borders between land and sea collide, will they stay on their original quests and cross swords, or will something more draw them closer together in a way that neither of them expected?
