while everyone was getting ready to leave the familiar forest Issei being the only one without a familiar decides that he wasn't going to leave until he gets one, running ahead deeper into the forest in search of his familiar he ends up finding another slime though this time is different but ultimately he made his mind up to get a slime as his familiar so he picks up the slime and proceeds to leave getting ready to make the slime his familiar with a happy tone (Author's Note: okay look hear me out I know at some point all of you had the same idea about a what if fanfiction about Rimuru Tempest becoming the familiar of Issei Hyoudou. okay just think about it doesn't it seems likely convenient since canonically he was about to get a slime familiar so what if in this scenario Issei decides to keep looking until eventually he ends up finding Rimuru and after short while becomes his familiar.
