I didn't listen when they warned me about Blackwater Ridge. The stories of the voices in the dark, felt like myths meant to scare kids. But they weren't. That night started peacefully-a crackling fire, a sky full of stars-but it didn't stay that way. When I heard the voice, weak and trembling, begging for help, I thought someone needed saving. I was wrong. I followed it, and what I found wasn't human... They weren't human. I barely made it out alive, but the nightmare followed me home. Now, every shadow feels alive, every whisper sounds like them. They're still out there, waiting. Watching. And I know they'll never stop. I don't know how much longer I can run. Thus authoring it down is my last option.
You're a brand new zookeeper at The Halfling Zoo- a place where half-animals live in captivity. Your job is simple- feed them and study them. Your main worry is that one of the more dangerous halflings might kill you.
Unfortunately, that may become the least of your worries.
