Down the Hall

In the whirlwind of a typical high school day, Abner raced through the crowded hallway, his mind laser-focused on a looming assignment deadline. His footsteps echoed off the lockers as he navigated the maze of students. Suddenly, he collided with Lidia, a fellow classmate with a cascade of dark hair and a bemused smile. The impact sent his paper flying, but as both of them laid flat, then scrambled to find the paper, their eyes locked. In that fleeting moment, amidst the chaos, a spark of connection flickered between them.
