Alexander Vonzi swept everything off his desk with a furious motion, sending papers, files, and even a glass of whiskey crashing to the floor. His jaw clenched, nostrils flaring as rage pulsed through his veins. His piercing gaze burned with betrayal. How could she? How could Soraya Richards even think about leaving him?
He gripped the edge of the desk, knuckles white. He had given her everything-protection, power, love. And yet, she was running. His mind raced, calculating. She wouldn't get far. Not from him.
Meanwhile, in a dimly lit hotel room across the city, Soraya Richards moved with urgency, stuffing clothes into a suitcase. Her hands trembled, but she steeled herself. She had made up her mind. She had to leave.
Her best friend, Blake, stood near the window, peeking through the curtains. His fingers drummed against the sill as he scanned the streets below for any sign of Alexander's men.
"Damn, girl," Blake muttered, a smirk playing at his lips. "You know you got it good when the head of the Mafia won't let you go."
Soraya groaned, pausing to shoot him a glare. "Leave it to you to joke at a time like this."
Blake shrugged. "What? I mean, the guy is obsessed with you."
Soraya inhaled sharply, forcing herself to keep packing. She knew that. She had seen it in Alexander's eyes every time he looked at her. That raw intensity. That possessiveness. That love.
But she wouldn't be controlled. Not even by him.
"Love or not," she whispered, her heart aching even as her resolve hardened.
Blake sighed, stepping away from the window. "You really think you can outrun him?"
Soraya's hands stilled for a brief moment before she zipped up her suitcase. "I have to try."
Because if she didn't leave now... she never would.

He got up from the bed, pulling up his pants and not taking a glance at me. I lay in the sheets, still dazed by what we had just done.
"Get up." He barks, making me jump a bit. I was confused beyond belief. Just moments ago he was making love to me...
I did as he said, wrapping the loose sheet around my body, he continued to glare as I did so, and I made my way to his side of the bed.
He held out a hand, an angry look on his face. "Don't. Just go. This was a mistake, and it won't happen again." He mutters coldly.
I feel my face heating up and my eyes welling with tears. "Oh.." I stare at him, my emotions beginning to be hard to keep in.
He laughs, shaking his head. "You thought I cared?" He let out a loud chuckle. "You mean nothing to me. Now go to your room, I don't want to see you in here again."
