Calamity

It has been over a thousand years since a series of disastrous events known as the Calamity wiped out almost all life on the Earth's surface. The richest and most powerful people of a dying nation, along with those willing to serve them just to survive, hid away under the surface while whoever and whatever survived Topside were grotesquely mutated.

My name is Arielle Stevensen, and I am the daughter of the President of the Underground. My DNA was modified since the embryonic stage and on my eighteenth birthday, I was expected to marry Kent Davis, whose own DNA was as ideal, and we would be the parents of a new chapter for mankind, like Adam and Eve.
