Sage Callahan should earn a trophy for his problem-avoiding skills. Never-endind pain from a chronic illness? Can't feel the it when you're high off your ass. Emotional vulnerability? Nope, he's too busy flirting with some freshman in a crop top. From vodka-fueled nights to hookups he won't remember (and probably shouldn't), Sage has made running from reality an art form. But the cracks are beginning to show, and guess who sees them? His best friend, Jerome Johnson, A.K.A. JJ. JJ has been Sage's emotional support blanket for years. JJ is equal parts ride-or-die for the people he loves and hopeless romantic. He's been clinging to Sage like a lovesick puppy, waiting for the moment when Sage might finally pull his head out of his ass, and quit running from all of his problems. Then one night Sage has a moment of clarity (possibly sober, possibly not), and suddenly, he's seeing JJ in a whole new light. Turns out, love might have been right there in his own living room-probably holding a takeout container and an emesis bag.

  • you in my voice (bxb)

"Excuse me, sir. I think you may have dropped these?" It was the voice I noticed first. Smooth, a little amused, and low enough to draw me out of myself. Then I saw him. Dirty blonde hair that looked like waves crashing down the sides of his face, and freckles like splattered paint across his fair skin. A silver hoop in his nose, another in his brow, both catching the light. And those eyes... electric blue, staring into my green ones with intensity. - After a heartbreaking loss, Killian has spent two years shielding himself from love, or any human contact really-convinced that no one could ever replace the person he lost. Finn, on the other hand, is caught in the throes of a toxic relationship, knowing he's not getting what he deserves but is too scared to walk away. When their paths cross, the spark is undeniable, but both are hesitant, scared of getting too close. Killian fears the pain of loving and losing again, while Finn's relationship has made him lose hope all together-almost. Will they let their pasts define them, or can they find the courage to bloom together in the wake of their ruins?
