Nakawuka Deziranta, a 62-year-old widow, mother of six, and grandmother, is fighting for her life. A once strong and hardworking woman, she is now too weak to stand, too fragile to hold her grandchildren, and too sick to live the life she once knew.

She can no longer eat. Every attempt to swallow ends in pain and vomiting. Her only source of survival is warm water. She is wasting away. If nothing is done soon, she may not survive.

A Terrifying Diagnosis - And A Race Against Time
Doctors have diagnosed Nakawuka with severe achalasia, a rare and life-threatening condition that has completely blocked her esophagus, preventing food from reaching her stomach. Without urgent surgery, she will starve to death.

She needs Heller's Myotomy, a delicate surgery to reopen her esophagus. If it fails, she may require an esophagectomy, a dangerous procedure to remove her entire food pipe.

She needs specialized treatment abroad but time is running out.
