"Long ago, when the world believed dragons were only myth. The world was ruled by humans, in that world it was human kill everything. All that changed when the sky opened and out came creatures that would burn the world to ash. Millions of lives lost in a matter of one year, the human army tried to kill them but no missile could breach the armored skin on the dragons body. Soon the whole human race would be gone, but that didn't happen. Everything changed when a man appeared. He was just a man they all thought until they witnessed him controlling and even riding a dragon with scales as black as the night sky. Once he came, the killings and number of wild dragons dropped, he had tamed them all. He came to be called Kahlo in our language or to the humans, he was the Dragon King. With Kahlo riding a dragon, he showed only the loyal ones how to do the same. That is how the Riders were born." The man stopped talking as he looked at the two faces of his children. "I think it be for bed soon my children." "Oh come now father, please finish the story," a little boy with white hair begged. "Yes father please," a young girl with black hair begged as well. "Alright, but it be bed right after or your mother would have my head." They both giggled and waited for their father to continue the story. "Peace flowed over the world, he put in place, his own form of rule. Each country would be ruled by a single Rider and their clans. Each of the world had dragons and their riders ruling the country. That is how peace remained in this world but something came to destroy our peace." The children gasped making the father smile. "Now to bed you two go." "Ah but father." They both whined but he covered them with the blanket. "No buts, to bed. I'll see you both in the morning." He kissed their heads making them smile. "Goodnight father." They both said as he closed the door.

Torin has always felt out of place in his small village. Despite the familiarity of his surroundings, he cannot shake the feeling that he doesn't belong. He longs for a place where he can truly be himself, away from the expectations of his people, a life free of the stifling weight of conformity. His dreams are filled with a sense of belonging, a vision of a life where he is accepted for who he is, not for who others expect him to be. One fateful day, while attending the annual Dragon Safe Arena, where dragons are brought to be killed for sport and fear, something extraordinary happens. A black dragon, larger and more majestic than any Torin has ever seen, enters the arena. The crowd erupts in excitement, but Torin feels an unexpected connection. The dragon's eyes lock onto his, and in that moment, he hears a voice-not in his ears, but in his mind. The dragon speaks to him, its words clear, yet impossible: "I see you, young one. You do not belong here." In a shock of realization, Torin understands the dragon's plea. No one else can hear it, no one else can understand the words-but Torin can. At that moment, everything changes. He chooses to defy the world he's always known, running away with the dragon, escaping the village that never understood him. As they journey together, seeking refuge in the wilds, they encounter other teens-four others-each of whom carries their own special gift. They, too, are misfits. One has the power to control the wind, another can manipulate shadows, a third can speak to animals, and the last can heal with a touch. The group of them, united by their unique abilities, form an unlikely family.

Family dynamics can be a royal pain. Love can be a choice. Fang knows trouble. Again. Her client is an odd one, but at least he's sweet, gentle and surprisingly cute for a species that looks like a cross between a demon and a dragon, horns and all. After a night of delicious wine, soft kisses and blistering passion Fang drifts off to dreams of warm clothes, regular meals and a place she can call home. Valen has it all: money, power, a name that guarantees him a life of ease and unimaginable luxury - but he leads a lonely, purposeless life in his father's house and his only friends are paid to look after him. So when a human woman appears in his bedroom, nude and claiming to be his birthday present, he can't help but wonder if he's finally gone mad. But she is real, she is lovely, and she is his for the night. For now Valen can forget who he is, and as he falls asleep with her in his arms he dreams of her becoming a more frequent visitor. Dawn reveals a horrifying truth, and two strangers are forced to put their trust in each other amid a web of secrets, lies, politics and familial strife. Putting on their best faces in public Fang and Valen must convince their respective people that they can work together for the greater good, and in private their relationship begins to develop from one of convenience into something far more complicated.

The Lost Life of Laraine by BearGoRawr

She lead a rather tragic life. The black sheep of her family due to her lack of affinity for fire. Her affinity was quite the opposite. Water in fact. Already in a time when women did not really have much political power or rights, she was outcasted by her family despite being of nobility. Still allowed to live in the distant west wing of the massive Grand Duke's manor, she has never eaten a single meal with her family nor extended family, and has spent her loneliness in her books and sword lessons. Although only taught by the head butler and one of the low ranked knights of the family, she was quite bright and if her family would have given her a chance she would have done great things. If only she didn't die at such a young age. Married off to some "hero" of sort that had slayed the Dragon of the North who was terrorizing the land and threatened the kingdom, this hero also had an affinity for fire and held her in disdain like the rest of her family. Suddenly a girl of another world was transported to their world, picked up by this hero and put into his secure care. The pair soon fell for each other despite the hero's marriage, and many believed Laraine got jealous of this girl of mystery, and tried to kill her. This was definitely not true. But because the girl was favored by the temple and kingdom Laraine was quickly arrested and put on trial. You can probably tell what happened to Laraine. But something strange happened the day of her execution. As soon as her decapitated head hit the ground the sky turned blood red and it began to rain fire. No one survived that day. But for some reason time went back, and Laraine was back to being a child, but with no memory of her future. There were select few in her life, however, that remembered her tragedy and now perhaps will take action to prevent it. NOTE: I'M AWARE THERE ARE A LOT OF INCONSISTENCIES. IT WILL BE EDITED SOME DAY BUT RIGHT NOW I'M JUST TRYING TO FINISH IT.

Synopsis: Aeris had never known love. As an orphan, she had spent her life yearning for warmth, for a place to call home. When she finally found someone who made her feel wanted, she clung to the illusion, believing that maybe-just maybe-she was no longer alone. But that illusion shattered the day she saw her lover in the arms of another woman. "You're pathetic," he sneered when she confronted him. And with one cruel shove, he sent her crashing against the wall. Pain struck her like a bolt of lightning, and then-darkness. She thought it was the end. Instead, she woke up in the body of a breathtaking maiden with long, silk-like black hair. Her limbs were bound, her vision blurred, and before she could even comprehend what was happening, she heard the chants of a ritual. She was being sacrificed-as a bride to a dragon. The people around her whispered prayers, their eyes filled with fear. They were offering her to him-the mighty, fearsome dragon lord who ruled these lands with fire and fury. She wasn't just anyone now. She was the chosen offering-the bride meant for the Dragon King. A being of pure darkness, a ruler feared across the world. They said he was a monster, a black-scaled dragon with a presence so overwhelming that the very air trembled in his wake. He controlled the elements and wielded power beyond imagination. He was ruthless, merciless, and unseen in his human form. No one had ever escaped his grasp. And now, she belonged to him. As the sky darkened and the great dragon descended from the heavens, his massive wings casting shadows over the trembling villagers, she finally saw him. Glowing red eyes, burning like molten fire, locked onto hers-not with rage, not with hunger, but with something unexpected. Curiosity. Possession. Fate had given her another chance. But was it a blessing or a curse? ---

For one, her emotions were out of control. She never got a peace of mind being left alone with herself. She was either blaming herself for actions, or she was traumatized at night by memories on this... place. The same place she felt more comfortable coming back to. Why did she come back? Why was the Isle her safe place? The same place she was punished on consistently for breathing incorrectly if her mother viewed it as so. But even still... it was her pain and her happiness. She felt more trapped and boxed on in Auradon than on the Isle. Was this a bad thing? Did she cause herself to feel that way? Was it Ben? Ben. The thought of him made her put the list against her chest. She felt terrible for leaving him.. but they were in a tough place. He wasn't listening; he wasn't hearing. She was impatient; her expectations.. could they be considered high? Should she focus more on working on her relationship than herself? No, in order to fix the relationship she'd have to fix herself. But she's a part of the relationship... Barely being here fifteen minutes and already struggling within her emotions, Mal began growing an headaches. The headache told her it was time to rest someplace quiet, to ride out the storm within her brain, for in time pain does ebb. Love. Love was a lot like going to war. One never returns the same. She had to resist the urge to give a bitter laugh. A more poetic woman could have made that sounded far better than it was. But could she have understood it to the degree Einar Atal herself did? No, the Warrior doubted that. She could still remember it. The love. The way it had inspired her to feats that made her now groan with a certain shame. It had driven her mad. The insatiable desire - the need for another person, something Einar fancied herself having forgot years and years ago. Oh, but her love had been beautiful. Not a soul alive could have argued against that fact, nor would one have survived even the insinuation. The voice, she could hear it like the faintest echo- if she tried...Only if she just... Tried.
