His Soul to take|| ONC 2025

Zade Farrah thinks that spilling coffee on his shirt or blowing the back tire of his only bike, while on his way to work, are the only exciting things in his life. But when he realizes that he is not alone in his little apartment, things take a terrifying but oddly alluring turn.

First, it is the walls--a screeching sound here and a whisper there. Then, it is the mirrors--slowly distorting his features. Marks and blemishes on his body either disappear or move to a different spot entirely. He knows the figure staring back at him is not him, but he has no proof. Until he confronts it.

As crazy as it sounds he expects his reflection to laugh at him or the very least reveal itself to be a ghost--even if he didn't believe in them. Not a tall, dark, and handsome demon who threatens to break free and ravish him until he is a weeping mess.

"Can I see you?" I ask, inching closer to the mirror.

His chuckle is deep, vibrating through my chest.

"I'll only scare you little one," he replies. I glare at his shadowy figure, squinting my eyes to see if I can get a good look at the man who has been watching me all this time.

"I'm not little and I'm not easily scared!" I bark, frustrated that he's the only one that gets to see.

It's not fair.

His chuckle reverberates again but this time a little darker.

"Compared to me you are, and not only will you be scared--you'll run for your life like a frightened little mouse."
