*ONC 2025* Prompt 118: "You're feeling trapped in your current relationship and can't shake the urge to break free."

A young French woman, Rosalie Ballou, is solemnly betrothed to the enigmatic Scottish Duke, Campbell, a union orchestrated to secure and preserve the noble lineage of her family's spectral abilities. Under the heavy burden of her family's expectations and her public image,  Rosalie is trapped in the suffocating confines of a loveless marriage. She is then confronted with her forbidden dream of freedom. 

As her passionate affair blooms with an Italian man, Belvedere, she is met with a choice of abandoning the life she's known in pursuit of her "Happy Ending." A pursuit that promises freedom but comes with unforeseen peril. Desperate for freedom, Rosile decides to elope with Belvedere unaware of how her crosswords would transform only leaving a wild rose behind. A bittersweet tragedy that will forever change both parties involved. Weather for good or for worse.
