During the summer holidays, Alexander Cornelius Lockwood stumbles upon a dark, buried family secret, forcing him to enlist the help of his secondary school classmates, who must unravel the truth before the ghosts of his family's past seek their revenge on the Northumbrian village of Mourninghelm.

It is the bleak beginning of September and Alexander Lockwood has started the dreaded Mourninghelm Comprehensive School. With new challenges in the form of a resident school bully and classmate, Jean Smith, he wonders whether this school year will ever get better. But when he finds a box in the back of his mam's wardrobe during the annual summer Lockwood clean-up, he uncovers an age-old mystery - and a curse.
With only twenty days to uncover the truth before the curse engulfs the whole village, Alexander enlists the help of his two best friends, the girl he has a crush on, and, regrettably, the school bully. However, with the fate of his family and Mourninghelm hanging in the balance, will the pressure crack him before he can save what he values most, or will he overcome the mystery standing in his way?

An Academy/ Ghost Bird Fanfic. Inspired by the characters and story by C.L. Stone. This story contains characters that are similar to the Ghost Bird ones , but not quite the same. The world looks like ours to the general public, but hidden in the shadows are horrifying creatures and the extraordinary humans who hunt them. Selene does not look anything like her parents and her eyes are uncanny- leaving her parents unsettled. Especially since they never wanted a child anyway. As she grows, she asks about things no one else can see or feel - which only makes things worse. The world is much too dangerous for Selene- no one will understand and will only try to hurt her. She is hidden away in her parents' large and lonely house- for her own good of course. Her life changes forever though one late afternoon when she finds that her wooded backyard is no longer the sanctuary she has always counted on. She learns that the world is a terrifying place, but not for the reasons her mother has always given her.- But more importantly, 5 young men will show her that she truly is a treasure - one that they have been desperately searching for. Carvings That Bind
Alyssan Bogard didn't live a long life. She died when she was 17. All she remembers is waking up in her backyard. She has no memory of her death and only has a vague idea about what happened from what she's heard while lingering around her family and previous school. Alyssan has no idea why she's lingering around as a spirit and wants nothing more than to move on. That is until she meets Sawyer. Sawyer Garrison is the guy the teachers adore, who people want to befriend, and who girls want to date. He's the one who's been voted most likely to succeed in life after school. His family life is shit. Sawyer wants nothing more than to get out of dodge as soon as the opportunity presents itself and with only seven months, two weeks, and four days left it couldn't come sooner. That is until he meets Alyssan. Neither expected to meet the other and neither expected the horrendous outcome that arises from it. Alyssan never ran away and she didn't die of any natural causes either. She was murdered and the fact that her killer is still on the loose scares both of them. The fact that the killings started again is even worse. With the killer targeting more girls, she and Sawyer might be the only hope of stopping the deaths. Like, how to dodge his uncle who keeps hitting on you, his mother who doesn't like her dress, his sister who prefers wearing a bikini than an all black gown, his brother who believes Jake is going to rise from the dead and is busy taking drugs, his grandpa's photo which is all over the house, his basement which is a place for mourners to get drunk and his room which is spic and span. Jake never kept his room spic and span. Something is wrong. The coffin is left closed and Cheryl thought she saw Jake walk past his brother who was crying and laughing at the same time.
