With new challenges in the form of a resident school bully and classmate, Jean Smith, he wonders whether this school year will ever get better. But when he finds a box in the back of his mam's wardrobe during the annual summer Lockwood clean-up, he uncovers an age-old mystery - and a curse.
With only twenty days to uncover the truth before the curse engulfs the whole village, Alexander enlists the help of his two best friends, the girl he has a crush on, and, regrettably, the school bully. The world looks like ours to the general public, but hidden in the shadows are horrifying creatures and the extraordinary humans who hunt them. Selene does not look anything like her parents and her eyes are uncanny- leaving her parents unsettled. Especially since they never wanted a child anyway. As she grows, she asks about things no one else can see or feel - which only makes things worse. The world is much too dangerous for Selene- no one will understand and will only try to hurt her. She is hidden away in her parents' large and lonely house- for her own good of course. Her life changes forever though one late afternoon when she finds that her wooded backyard is no longer the sanctuary she has always counted on. She learns that the world is a terrifying place, but not for the reasons her mother has always given her.- But more importantly, 5 young men will show her that she truly is a treasure - one that they have been desperately searching for. Turns out he left a will and that is what he was killed for. She is determined to find that will and find out who his killer is but when you are in Jake Welling's house you have many other things to worry about. Like, how to dodge his uncle who keeps hitting on you, his mother who doesn't like her dress, his sister who prefers wearing a bikini than an all black gown, his brother who believes Jake is going to rise from the dead and is busy taking drugs, his grandpa's photo which is all over the house, his basement which is a place for mourners to get drunk and his room which is spic and span. Jake never kept his room spic and span. Something is wrong. The coffin is left closed and Cheryl thought she saw Jake walk past his brother who was crying and laughing at the same time.
