Long ago, eight gods came together to create something to call their own. They made the world of Athas, and divided the land into kingdoms, with people and creatures to take care of the planet.
By tradition, the kingdoms renew their relationships with one another by marrying the royal families' heirs off to other kingdoms...

This is the first story that I've really been putting an effort into working on. I've always loved fantasy and romance, and really wanted to write one of my own that others could enjoy reading.
Since this is my first official story that I want to complete, I am very open to feedback. Please, leave your thoughts on how I could make this story reach the potential it has!
Story parts will probably come out slowly. I have a very busy life, and have little time to work. However, I am definitely putting in the effort. I might work harder if I get some more ideas and don't continually succumb to writer's block, lol.

The Last Connection: Blessing from Above
500 years ago, not one soul could find peace from the wars raging between realm's power hungry rulers. To save the realm from complete self-destruction, the Gods made mankind a promise: Whoever can make peace between themselves shall bring about a blessing on the realm for a dozen generations. And so it was. 14 aging Kings of the western coast made peace and formed 3 empires. 11 ambitious Dukes arranged marriages to form 9 new kingdoms. 8 proud Lords of the lake settled their feuds and divided the lakeside. 4 greedy Masters of the mining colonies established the mining confederation. 3 holy Priests united the true worshipers to found a ministry governed state. And so the Gods blessed them, connecting souls across the realm so they may share knowledge, skills and companionship. But a dozen generations have passed and the Blessed have not been seen in decades, becoming nothing more than a story. But the story is not finished yet. To remind the realm of the chaos and destruction birthed by war, the Gods showered the realm with meteors as 8 newborns received the last Blessing of the Lords. As the last children to be touched by the Gods, they will be hunted by those who long for chaos to engulf the realm. They will be tempted to use their shared knowledge for their own gain. But if the realm is to survive, they must use their skills to strengthen each other and end the conflict before it can begin. A naive princess and a vengeful slave. Tales of Heaven
The first project that I started in early secondary school. Looking back at it is not that good. but seeing as I may not go back to it I might as well share it. Long ago the great gods of this world guided and protected all of the creation, but that all changed when the darkness welled up from below the ground and ravaged to lands, seas and sky. All kingdoms fell. With the last of their light. the gods bestowed their power upon chosen warriors, each blessed with power to destroy the darkness. However, the darkness proved too strong, fueled by the darkness in the hearts of man. It was sealed away in a conflict and the chosen were laid to slumber for a new generation to take up the mantle and do what needed to be done. Aspects of this became what Elohim is today.Complete
