It's the summer, and the last Quincy Todd wants to be bothered is any and all responsibilities. With his parents on his back about the importance of choosing the right college, excelling in his upcoming senior year, and the pressure to put his sports dreams to rest; all the teenager wants is the opportunity to live as freely as his friends like to believe he does.

The only other thing on his mind? Girls, of course. Stumbling upon the latest object of his affection while applying for a job, he finds himself having to work harder than usual just for even millisecond of her time. For the first time, he finds the chase worth it.

Kerri Rogers is always living in her own world of delusion, choosing to be the positive spirit that balances out the pessimism provided by her step-sister. In a house of attitudes, and restricted by a controlling father; her only salvation is a little job and the bit of time she gets to spend with her best friend. With no big goals and a bleak social life, all she wants is a simple summer filled with fun, some sort of excitement, and money flowing her way.

The last thing she expected? To catch the eye of one of her high school's BIGGEST playboys. Unmoved by the slick lines and pretty boy looks, she quickly sets herself apart from all that he's used to. And, unlike everyone around them, she soon finds that he's not really what he makes himself out to be.
