The Morning After is a powerful and emotional exploration of suicide told through the eyes of a young girl(Brenna Dollyns) who, in her deepest despair, believed that ending her life would relieve the pain of those around her. In her afterlife, she watches the devastating impact of her decision on her loved ones and confronts the overwhelming regret of not seeing another way out. It is a story of misguided pain, the irreversible consequences of a life cut short, and the deep unspoken love that remains even after we're gone. Through her eyes the novel explores the complexity of mental illness and the profound impact of every life, even when it feels like it doesn't matter.
