The people of California are tormented by forest fires, fueled by the advent of manmade climate change. Because the U.S. president has ordered all disaster relief to be curtailed, the number of casualties go up. Just as Ally is about to be consumed by the flames, she is rescued by a faerie named Aponi, who takes her to Catori Academy, a school where faeries train in disaster relief. To get to the root of the problem, Ally and Aponi embark on a mission to Washington, to convince the president to stop listening to billionaires and start caring about the interests of the common people. / Ages 8 and up. / To the victims and survivors of the California wildfires, 2025.
