Losing Rene? by sabrynabrooklynne
9 parts Complete
This book is written from the point of view of a father raising a child alone. It's an emotional journey through past life experiences and present life acceptances that takes place in one single scene with flashbacks that fill the reader in on how we got to that point. The following is an excerpt from one of the flashbacks: " Who is this woman and the kids in your drawing," I asked my son. He sat the crayon down and picked up another without looking up. "Those are mine from before." I raised my eyebrows. "From before when?" "From before I was born." Intrigued, I pulled out a chair and set down beside him as he continued to draw. "Rene, before you were born you were just a twinkle in the eyes of your mother and me." "I had a family back in a time before my life was cut short and I was born this time." "Well from the looks of your drawing, you sure had a beautiful wife." "That's not my wife," he informed me sternly. He began to color again, trading one color for another. I smiled and inwardly congratulated my late-wife Renee for passing on to our son such an imagination. I fought the urge to pepper Rene with questions, but once I had really thought about what he said, many of my assumptions about him up to that point were beginning to make some sense. That evening, long after Rene had gone to bed I fired up my laptop and began to research Past Life Experiences. I found that Rene's story was not all that uncommon, and there were countless thousands of children across the globe had insisting that they'd had a past life. Only, this was MY SON. *This story was written by Sabrynabrooklynne on Wattpad. If you aren't reading it there, it's been stolen. Please report the website. It's probably not the final version either.*

In a world where 80% of the population has developed unique mutations in their genetic codes, giving them "superpowers", or "quirks", as they call it, it doesn't take long for fantasy and imagination to emerge out of the earth. And further, it doesn't take long for roles of "Heroes" and "Villains" to rise up as well. But... Who coins one as a "hero" or a "villain"...? The person themselves...? Or the people around them...? Light... Dark... Dusk... Dawn... Two sides of the same coin... Twilight... --- Kageyama Kazuma is a 16 year old boy, aspiring to follow his late father's footsteps, and become a hero who saves people. But... Not all can go as planned, or wished, right? So was the case for Kazuma as well, as his quirk soon found itself being held accountable for Kazuma being coined the word "villain" by those around him, before he could even begin his journey to becoming a hero. His only light in this darkness being his mother, is willing to do whatever it takes to keep that smile she treasures so much to never leave the boy's face. But... Being a human at the end of the day, she can only do so much. Follow Kageyama through his journey to becoming one of the greatest heroes in the entirety of Japan. What awaits him on this journey? Friends? Love? Hardships? That's for you to find out. [This is a rework of my first book ever, "What It Means To Be A Hero"] --- I do not own any claims/rights to the My Hero Academia verse, all rights go to Kosei Horikoshi. I only own the original characters I've added to the story, and the arts I add in the book. In case the art doesn't belong to me, I'll credit the said person in the comments. Peace. The only thing that lifts inhumanity in the form of Chauvinism is some Norms, Traditions, Rituals and stereotypes, which are created by all mentally-visually impaired human beings no matter whether they are Women or Men.
