Shifters were of legend: half human, half of their separate form. The magic of Middle Earth chose them from the moment they were born. There used to be cities and kingdoms filled with Shifters, until Sauron, the Great Eye, drove them from their kingdoms. They took refuge as their second form, hiding with any who let it be.

Y/n Fae was a Shifter. Half human, half phoenix. She had been living in Rivendell for as long as she could remember. She took jobs as a scout, or getting things from tall places. Nothing particularly fun. She dreamt of a life of adventure, not for her wings to be clipped. And that's exactly what she got.
