"I hate you." "Maybe, but I bet if I kissed you right now you'd kiss me back." "I guess you'll have to do it to find out." People like Adrienne Bishop don't get happy endings. They just aren't supposed to. Girls with ink stained finger tips and tear stained cheeks don't get to be angels. After her best friend dies, Adrienne finds herself stuck in the constant lull of darkness. That is until she meets Shane. Shane Alpine is the embodiment of light. The kind of person life is supposed to give happy endings to. Sunshine in the purest form. But if there's one thing Shane's learned about life, it's that it doesn't care about the people in it. When the two meet each other under odd circumstances, unwanted feelings arise. Adrienne and Shane learn that not everything on the outside is its truest form. Life can be cruel. Sometimes you just need someone that makes it more bearable.
