Hale, the goddess of torment and depravity, saviour of tormented and abused children, carer, lover, torturer, giggler, and mischief-in-chief. Many people are embarrassed at being known as a worshipper of hers, especially since Haleian worship among consenting adults often involves volunteering to play one of her games, which are usually risqué at the very least, and the vast majority of individuals not into such things are, quite understandably, nervous of coming to her attention. But she does have other worshippers, those who turn to her for reasons of fear, for permission, for forgiveness, for support, for rescue, and those whom she loves and who address her as aunty, mother, or more rarely grandmother. A promise she makes to an adult is, naturally, fair game to be broken, but a promise she makes to a child is one she will keep forever, and Hale's rescued children are utterly faithful to her. This collection comprises three interrelated stories featuring the goddess Hale and some of those few people who openly worship her as the key characters. Each of these stories is named for and narrated by a different person, and is split into chapters. There are also two related short stories at the end of the collection. It might be useful to read the collection, "If I'm an evil goddess" first in order to appreciate Hale's background. Content warning: sex between consenting adults, criminal acts including murder and cannibalism, torment and torture, use of knives, some medical content. note that the cover image does not belong to me
