Former detective Selena Evans retreats to a remote cabin to escape her past, but when Gavin Locke arrives, claiming to have crashed nearby, she hesitantly offers him shelter due to the oncoming storm. As the brutal snowstorm traps them together, her suspicions of him grow, and she soon discovers Gavin isn't who he says he is, but instead is a fugitive serial killer.
What begins as unease turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse, with Gavin seeing Selena as his greatest challenge, but Selena isn't easy prey. As the storm rages, she must rely on her instincts to survive.
In a final confrontation, she fights to outwit him-but in doing so, she's forced to confront the darkness within herself.

Both of them were happy until they found out their high school best friend, Rosalind McAllister was murdered. So, they both go back to their hometown, Maplebirch to attend the funeral, just to find out that the police think that it was a suicide. But it doesn't fit because Rosalind was the perfect human being. She was selfless, happy, helping and loving. She would never think of hurting herself, let alone killing. After the case is closed, Rosalind's posse is all distressed. They decided to meet at a restaurant to talk and when they order their bill, they also get a note which says that Rosalind was in fact murdered and the person who wrote it knows who killed Rosalind. All they have to do is follow the clues and obey the rules and it would lead them straight to the killer.
