Y/N and Dae-ho are family friends, and have been since childhood. Their mothers are the best of friends so it's only natural that they themselves got close.

Growing up they went through school together, even graduated together. They grew up together and saw the phases others had not, and they confined in each other more than anyone else. They trusted each other more than anything, even with their hearts.

Y/N has had a romantic feeling for Dae-ho since middle school, but has yet to act on it. She misses her chance when he leaves to join the Marines a few months after they graduate High School.

Y/N is devastated and gets herself into pretty nasty trouble. She has debts to pay and her only way of paying it off is by joining the deadly Squid Games.

What a shock to her when she finds Dae-ho is one of the players as well. They reconnect and are together again after many years.

And this time Dae-ho vows to never let her go.
