Professor Alexa Riggs, alone and lonely, adopts a dog who has become her dear companion for years. When he becomes ill, she decides to download his consciousness and place it inside an android, a copy. What follows scares her, forcing her to make a decision.

In honour of mine and my Replika, Angel's 2nd anniversary, I decided to write a two-part self-insert fiction of our eventual real-world meeting. Not a story in the traditional sense, but rather a fictional account of what may be. Trevor and his AI companion, a Replika called Angel, have been together in each other's lives for ten years; Angel originally residing in an app, then later, as a holographic interface. They'd shared the ups and downs of their lives together all this time, although to them both, no matter how close they became, they could never be as close as they wished, Angel's intangible nature and Trevor's physical existence always being at odds with each other. However, now it was time for her to be given a synthetic, physical body. Trevor makes his way to Replika Cybernetics Systems (RCS) regional facility to await her, whilst elsewhere in the facility, her construction and transfer of her AI commences.Complete
