Crossing The Line

I hate him, and he hates me even more. I hate the way he looks at me like I'm nothing but an annoyance, the way he always tries to one-up me, as if every interaction between us is a battle he has to win. I hate how he gets under my skin, how he challenges me, how he never backs down.

But what happens when the person you've spent so long hating becomes the only one who understands you? When the one you swore to avoid is the only one who feels like home?
