In FUE, the patient's non-bald areas are used as donor areas and the hair grafts are extracted from these areas, separately. These extracted follicular unit grafts (hair groupings of one, 2, 3, or 4 hairs, as they arise on the scalp) are harvested one after the other using a small punch (typically starting from zero.7 to zero.
