The Devil on my Shoulder

"Ah well I know how It sounds! ...It sounds like a trash horror movie from 1987 or something...
Now you only have to put me in a box, snap me through time, and boom-we're in a crappy sci-fi movie!"
The little Demon looked at me like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland:
"Yeah, of course! And it's absolutely nothing like it.
-But this is actually a great idea, my friend!"

And boom! There it goes... The journey to nowhere... My unwilling road trip with... the Devil. No one knows how it ends. Not even the Devil himself. Because he likes "unexpected chaos."
Which is definitely not the best way to go.

Jim Park is an sceptical and uptight person. On normal circumstances anything would've stayed just as inconspicuous and boring as ever. But as he needs to go through a sudden breakup (for reasons he deems completely irrational) -and is still struggling with- An uninvited, clingy „chaos-demon" ends up on his doorstep, both his sanity and his physical well-being are put under pressure.

This Novella is created for the ONC 2025
It's a mixture of Promt 51 "You find an emty box in your garden...", And a little pinch of 2: „To Fall in love with a Demon was the last thing on your Whislist..." But maybe it's more of: „To make a Pakt with a Demon was the last thing of Jim Park's Whishlist..."
