The story begins in a struggling inner-city neighborhood. Santino "Saint" Rivera, a 14-year-old half-white, half-Latino teenager, narrates his life. He's the oldest of three siblings in a single-mother household. His mom works multiple jobs, and the weight of responsibility falls heavily on him. Saint dreams of a better life but sees the legitimate hustle as a losing game.

After transferring to a new high school, Saint quickly learns that survival in this environment demands wit and ruthlessness. He meets a mix of characters who will shape his future-from slick scammers and ruthless gangsters to tech-savvy hackers. One of these encounters leads to his initiation into the Risk Takers, a local crew known for bipping (car break-ins), card cracking, and running fraud schemes. The crew's motto? "Risk it all or die trying."

Saint's quick thinking and tech skills make him invaluable. By the end of the episode, he pulls off a small but ambitious scam, earning his spot in the crew. His success sparks a thirst for more, setting the stage for his rise in the criminal underworld.
