Deep into your senior year of college, you wake up to find yourself in Gotham City in the 1950s. Did you land in some kind of parallel universe? Is it just a dream? Or are your roommates playing some kind of prank? Either way, the Gotham City Police Department assumes that you're crazy (considering the year you just came from), and, taking no chances, they throw you into Arkham Asylum, where you soon meet the Clown Prince of Crime himself: the Joker.

A Modern Joke
As an aspiring writer, it's difficult not to look at stories you love and wonder 'What if?' I have notice how the Joker's origin in The Killing Joke and the Joker movie (2019) both stories take place during the 1980s. But what if it took place today? That's what I try to answer! In this original work I explore how a complex character like the Joker could emerge and be influence by current social problems. It's a romantic, and specially mysterious short story that I wish one day could help me make it to DC as a comic book writer, and if I don't, at least I enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it! This is my own personal version of how our lovable Dr. Harleen Quinzel fell in love with the psychopathic clown known as The Joker. This will be a dark story.
