Alyssa Hawkins decides it's best for her to transfer from her FBI work in New Orleans, hoping for a fresh start after getting caught up in an emotionally draining case. So, when a spot on the Behavioural Analysis Unit in Quantico, her home town, opens up, she immediately jumps at the opportunity.

Spencer Reid, one of, if not the brightest member on the team, is upset about the absence of his friend, Elle, who had resigned. He tells himself to not get too close to her, not wanting the same thing to happen. In a result of that, Alyssa notices how he seems to act distant toward her, it leaves her wondering what it is that's she's done to make him act in such a way.

His plan doesn't seem to work when he finds himself completely caught up in the new agent, he quite frankly finds it hard to not think of her as the most captivating human he's ever seen.
