James Morgan, a former interpreter in the city of Durham on the continent of Civitas, leaves society in the wake of a collapsing economy after the unfortunate passing of his girlfriend to escape the growing everyday deterioration of the world. Striving to be self-sufficient, Morgan begins to notice peculiar events happening around him and begins to wonder about the cause and purpose of his isolation. Through minimal contact with his aunt , Elise Morgan, and a strange man appearing seemingly out of nowhere, he begins to discover what his true purpose is.
Civitas, the formerly known North American continent of the United States, Canada and Mexico is the last standing bastion of human society, slowly falling apart due to civil unrest, political corruption, supply and power shortages and intercultural gang violence. The remaining continents of the world ravaged by the Great War suffer from crumbling cities, erratic storms and remnants of dangerous weaponry.
A Fantasy/mystery novel with elements of love, follow Morgan through his journey to discover who he is, what his purpose is, whether or not love is possible to find a second time and how he can help restore peace and order to his world.
