Katie is a washup. She was once a famous child detective, but as an adult, she's barely surviving. She's a prep cook in a dog-eat-dog world (har har). She only has one respite: her dog, a strange mutt she found in a cardboard box during a storm. This dog is also her biggest nuisance but, ultimately, her only friend.

When she finds a cat scratching strange symbols into a brick wall, she enlists the help of a cute volunteer at an animal shelter. But the animals in Katie's life have their own secrets, and when Katie becomes embroiled in a conspiracy that crosses dimensions, Katie's whole world shakes.

Can she save the other world? Can she get the girl? And more importantly, can she get a good therapist?

Children of the Elements: Prey to Him de GemmaMay26
26 Partes Concluida
In the blink of an eye, the shards of glass previously lying at Nathan's feet were surrounding him, inches from his skin. His heart beat jumped at the suddenness, but he refused to move. As he looked back at Will, he no longer found the aggressive teen super-soldier, but an angry, terrified child staring back at him. "No," Will snapped, only just managing to hide the wavering fear in his voice. "If I have to live like this, then so do you." Nathan maintained his calmness, even as the glass edged its way closer to his skin. "Let us get the antidote and all of us can be free." It's been a month since the unlucky four's lives were changed forever. They thought their new plan of retrieving their siblings would be an easy one, until Nathan begins to distance himself, leaving for days and returning battered and bruised, and Ash becomes lost in her own head. An attack, several deaths and a mysterious stranger later, and the four of them are back on the road, following only the word of a boy in a desperate attempt to find some kind of way to save their brothers and sisters. But as the secrets they find on their journey begin to cause tension in the group, it may prove much more difficult to band together than they first expected. All is not what it seems in the second instalment of the Children of the Elements series as Nathan, Ash, Chris and Eva embark on their latest adventure to the hidden Rockfall Bay. * * * Hey guys! So this is the second book in my trilogy and therefore a sequel to the first book, Children of the Elements: Our Beginning. I guess you don't have to have read the first book to understand the storyline, but it kind of helps to know who the characters are and the relationships between them. Copyright © 2013 Gemma May. Each year across Nirvala, nations encompassing every race celebrate unity, athleticism, and wisdom. From the trollan jungles of Taniros to the shining elven city of Luminaria, two champions emerge to represent their people. The victors walk away with riches and fame. Honor is optional. No two arenas are the same, and only the strongest survive. Traps, monsters, and puzzles await, fraught with danger and a command to protect the team talisman. ... A young rogue from Nirvala's northernmost region, Ives only has one goal: win the Games. He's trained his entire life for this, and dreams of being the first player of human descent to win the games since Tallon Colbert's legendary victory several years prior. His motivations or no one else's business The problem? He's partnered with Sera Phenos, a seasoned monk from the native community of a far-off archipelago. Last year, Ives cost her a spot in the games, and Sera is in no mood to forgive her partner. He is reckless and a liability; a disastrous quality in a champion competing in challenges far above his league. The pair lands themselves in trouble before the games even start, making working together nearly impossible. Unfortunately, any hope to win means they must set aside their differences and cooperate, a feat that's easier said than done. After all, only one team can win. *** ©️ Kristi Elliot and S. G. Gardner. A Standalone novella and spinoff of A Mischievous Tale of Magical Mayhem.

Combine a mountain filled with rugged orcs with a mysteriously arrived shop serving delicate cups of tea. Could this be the start of a revolution? **** On Orc Mountain, there is nothing but dirt, smoke, and backbreaking labor in the mines. There are no colors, no sun, no breaks for rest. There is definitely no tea. That is, until a mysterious tea shop appears in the orcs' domain. Glimmering in blue and pink, it stands out against the rugged backdrop. At first, the hardened inhabitants of the mountain are understandably leery about the malpositioned shop, wondering how it got there and why. Lava, a dedicated supervisor at the mines, takes it upon herself to investigate the suddenly-arrived business. Stepping inside, she meets Jasper, the bubbly fairy shopkeeper, who offers her a fragrant brew. Once Lava takes a sip, the sweet yet bitter taste pulls her in, making her clamor for more. Soon, all orcs are hooked on tea, but something sinister is brewing under the surface. When Lava catches Jasper conducting a secret meeting in a backroom, the true purpose of the tea shop is revealed. Soon she is forced to choose between her newfound passion for tea (and Jasper) and her dedication to the mountain's mining operations. *** Legends & Lattes x Shrek *** An ONC novella using prompt #15: A mysterious tea shop suddenly appears and you can't help but wonder: what's its true purpose, and why does it seem so important?
