Madelyn brooks lived her childhood being the punching bag. Always looked down upon (literally). Growing up in Alabama with a dream of becoming a rock and roll goddess. Finally at sixteen she decided to run away to la. Leaving behind her mom who cares more about drugs than her, her father who only touched her in ways that would leave bruises, and an older sister who vanished when she was 12.
At 19 her band has made people turn heads, cameras flashing when she walks into a bar. Still it wasn't enough. It never is.
She meets Nikki and suddenly all she wants to do is go back to those half filled bars singing like her life depended on it. Before the fame. Before the man who helped her burn down the city, including themselves.
