Akira Jacel was a kind, helpful, diligent, and intelligent young woman studying at a prestigious university in Manila, thanks to a scholarship she had received. However, upon entering the school, she faced ridicule from many of her peers due to her humble background. Despite this, she endured and persevered.
One day, a group of students befriended her, and they became close friends. Akira helped them with their assignments and projects. One of the guys in the group court her, and she reciprocated her feelings.
However, as time passed, the ridicule and bullying Akira faced intensified. One rainy day, while on her way home, she realized she had left her umbrella in the classroom. She returned to retrieve it and overheard a conversation between her crush and another girl.
"When are you going to break up with that slut?" the girl asked. "You're obviously just using her or Are you really in love with her?"
"Of course not!" The boy replied. "You know I only love you. If you hadn't forced me to flirt with Akira, I wouldn't have done it."
The girl warned him, "Make sure you really break up with her."
Her crush assured her, "Don't worry, tomorrow is our monthsary, and I'll break up with her in front of everyone."
The girl asked, "Really?"
"Yes!" her boyfriend replied. "I'll make sure she begs me not to break up with her, and I'll humiliate her so much that she won't want to attend school anymore."
Akira couldn't bear to listen anymore and ran away, tears streaming down her face despite the rain.
