"In Basgiath, survival is a battle. But when dragons dictate the bonds of fate, some battles are already lost."

Lydia Evermore has spent her life fighting to survive-first in a home that sought to break her, and now in the deadly halls of Basgiath War College. She didn't come here to win glory. She came for one reason: to live long enough to never go back.

But Basgiath doesn't reward survival. It devours the weak. The Parapet, the Gauntlet, the dragons-they're all designed to cull the unworthy.

And somehow, she endures.

When a fierce green daggertail chooses her, Lydia thinks she might finally have a chance to carve out a future for herself. Until she realizes her dragon is bonded to Chradh, the mate of a second-year's powerful scorpiontail-binding her to Garrick Tavis, a soldier as unreadable as he is dangerous.

Their connection is an accident. A risk. A mistake that should never have happened.

Because when Lydia's signet finally manifests, it's something rare. Something forbidden.

𝐀 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬.

She can shield herself. She can shield others. But most terrifyingly...she can shield HIM.

36 parts Complete Mature
Steve Rogers x OC Her entire life she had been trained to do one thing - kill. Ever since she was taken from her parents as a child and sold to the Red Room, Emilia Amsel had been trained in the art of assassination. She could kill a target twenty different ways with a single paper clip, and any sort of home she once knew had been wiped away from existence. That was until the Red Room was finally disbanded by Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova, Melina Vostokoff, and Alexei Shostakoff. It had been twenty-two years of the same routine everyday, suddenly disbanded. Any normalcy she had was destroyed, and now she had an entire life to rebuild. She continued to do the only thing she knew how to do, even when it meant targeting a hit on an Avenger. When the mission goes haywire and she finds herself in the walls of the Avengers compound, she is faced with a decision that will go against everything she had ever learned and known in her twenty years in the Red Room. Does she stick around and become something she had been trained to despise? Or continue on in her vigilante ways of being the most renowned assassin since the Black Widow and the Winter Soldier? -- All characters that are not my own belong to Marvel. This story takes place between the events of Black Widow and Infinity War, and in a world where Civil War did not break up the Avengers. I am also playing with some aspects from the comics as well as the MCU, which includes Natasha being a super solider (with my own spin, of course). Chapters Fifteen through the end are for mature audiences. Read at your own risk.
