(I still need to work on the chapters, but I want to post the beginning of what I've written to see if people would actually be interested in reading a full story if I continue it.)
The Lands Hidden, Above the Mortals' Gaze is a fantasy tale that explores the mysteries of Mythoria, a world where legends blur the line between myth and reality. At its heart lies the Shade of the Ancients, a sacred forest hidden beneath the gods' celestial domain, unseen by mortal eyes.
Long ago, the god of creation, Nerathos, breathed life into the void, forging vast oceans, towering mountains, and the Tree of Cosmos Shades, a celestial mirror of the stars. From its roots, the Shade of the Ancients was born, a realm where elemental beasts and divine beings safeguard the world's balance.
But now, this grand tale takes an unexpected turn.
Enter Yuexian and Jinyu, two powerful celestial beasts, loyal guardians of the Shade of the Ancients. After centuries of dedication, Nerathos himself grants them something unheard of. A vacation. Yes, after a thousand years of watching over the sacred realm, they finally have the freedom to explore the world once more.
It has only been a thousand years since their last visit. Surely, nothing major has changed. The mortal world is still the same, right?
With ancient wisdom, mythical abilities, and absolutely no idea what to expect, Yuexian and Jinyu embark on their long-overdue break. What could possibly go wrong?

She hated riding the subway.
It was cramped, smelled, and the seats were extremely uncomfortable to sit on for hours on end.
Now add a group of crazy mask-wearing, weapon-wielding, maniacs to the ever growing list of reasons why Gemma hated riding the subway.
Gemma Conners is your average eighteen year old and for the past two years she's been riding the subway to and from school with no problem. She always expected the same ol' same ol'. Cramped spaces, hard seats, and perverts staring her up and down and "accidentally" bumping into her and blaming it on the train as it jostled people into one another.
Never did she expect a group of masked men to rush in and hold everyone onboard hostage, demanding that they all play along with their sick and twisted idea of a "game".
It was either that or die.
To add on to her ever growing list of problems, one of the passengers onboard just so happens to be Archer Daniels, your typical high school "heartthrob" and Gemma's classmate. Her day just kept getting better and better.
With Gemma's luck, she'd be lucky if she lasted five minutes.
Yep. She really hated the subway.
