Josephine (or Johnny or Josie, depending on who's asking) Braros has had to flee Mexico with her mom and younger sister Dorie because of her dads part in a deadly drug war. Coming to America has been one of the hardest things Josephine's ever had to do, feeling like she's left everything behind, besides what's in her duffel bag. Because of this, she tries not attach herself to anyone, just in case anyone finds out about her family's little secret. But then she meets Cable. He's so genuine, so kind, so funny, she can't help but be herself around him. And just when she starts to let her guard down, a series of events happen that make her whole world shatter.
